Our Purpose Through Eight Ministry Areas

WORSHIP - Worship God Daily. We believe that worship of God is the primary purpose of the church. The church provides regular times of corporate worship and encourages members to maintain personal and private worship.

FELLOWSHIP - Belong to the Family of God. Baptism is the means for becoming a part of the Church family. The church provides opportunities for fellowship among believers and a sense of belonging to the local body as brothers and sisters in Christ.

EVANGELISM - Go Here to Witness to the Lost. We encourage our members to share their faith openly, often, and in love. Our homes, work places and our community is the mission field where God has placed us to win people to Christ. We offer regular times of visitation, but challenge our members to be witnesses through their lives daily.

MISSIONS - Go There to Do Mission Work. Our church gives 11% of our regular offering to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention that supports over 5000 full-time missionaries. Through special offerings each year, we give to state, national, and international missions. We send out short term mission groups each year and support a married couple ministering in Romania.

MINISTRY - Serve The Community Needs. The church has a benevolence arm that reaches into the community to help people with physical needs. Through ministries like Letcher County Food Pantry, Angel Food Ministry, and others we communicate the love of Jesus to the people around us in need.

CARING - Care for The members of the church family. Through benevolence, homebound ministry, nursing home and hospital ministries, pastoral counseling and more� we seek to bear the burdens of those members who face special needs.

DISCIPLESHIP - Grow In Our Salvation. unday school and discipleship classes and two of the many ways we seek to teach members the basic doctrines of the faith and how to live the Bible�s teachings in our lives. We encourage our members to mentor new believers.

ADMINISTRATION - Organize To Do It Right. In order to plan, prepare, and organize to carry out effective ministry, we seek to administer the resources of the church in such a way that God is glorified and the purposes of the church are carried out.
